The BRAVE-WOW project was represented at the Expert Seminar New Directions in Sexual Harassment Research in Bratislava. The Project Coordinator, Leonor Pais (University of Coimbra), and the Work Package 2 Leader, Nuno Rebelo dos Santos (University of Évora), were invited as guest speakers to present and discuss research methods for developing and validating questionnaires, namely, the Decent Work Questionnaire.
In their talk, they focused on the concept of decent work and its connection to GBVH. They shared methods used previously to develop and validate the Decent Work Questionnaire interculturally. They also discussed the further development of instruments, specifically to address the GBVH in healthcare.

The speakers have reinforced the importance of examining these issues from a cross-cultural perspective. Furthermore, they highlight that today GBHV occurs in an intercultural environment due to large migrations – migrants coming from outside Europe and the professional mobility among Europeans. This context complexifies GBVH awareness, interpretations, combat, and mitigation strategies.
The Seminar was organised by the VIOLET project, which works to improve understanding and develop tools to prevent sexual harassment in workplaces and academic settings. VIOLET brought together experts from across Europe to exchange ideas and promote safer and more respectful work environments for everyone.
