BRAVE-WOW commitment to ensuring high quality standards

European-funded projects are designed to foster innovation, collaboration, and sustainable development across member states. These projects often involve multiple partners, diverse disciplines, and complex deliverables. In this context, a Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) is not just a formality—it is a strategic tool that ensures the project’s success, credibility, and long-term impact.

The European project BRAVE-WOW, co-funded by the European Commission through the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) Programme, is strongly committed to this endeavour.

FICYT, the Foundation for the promotion in Asturias of the Scientific Research and the Technology will design and implement the QAP to guarantee that BRAVE-WOW reach the highest standards.

The main pillars of the BRAVE-WOW QAP are the following:

  1. Ensuring compliance with EU standards. European funding programs come with strict guidelines and expectations regarding deliverables, reporting, and impact. The BRAVE-WOW QAP will help ensure that the project activities and outputs comply with these standards, reducing the risk of non-compliance, financial penalties, or reputational damage.
  2. Promoting consistency and accountability. With 14 partners spread across 4 countries and institutions, maintaining consistency in processes and outputs is a challenge. The BRAVE-WOW QAP will define clear quality criteria, roles, responsibilities, and review mechanisms, ensuring that all partners are aligned and accountable.
  3. Enhancing BRAVE-WOW credibility and impact. High-quality outputs are more likely to be adopted, cited, or scaled up. The BRAVE-WOW QAP includes mechanisms for peer review, validation, and continuous improvement, which enhance the scientific, technical, and societal value of the project’s results.
  4. Facilitating Risk management. The BRAVE-WOW QAP will include procedures for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks related to quality. This proactive approach will help prevent issues before they escalate, ensuring smoother project execution and better use of resources.
  5. Supporting transparent communication. Quality assurance in BRAVE-WOW will foster transparency in how decisions are made and how processes are handled. This is particularly important in collaborative projects where trust and clarity are essential for effective teamwork.
  6. Strengthening evaluation and reporting. European projects are subject to periodic reviews and final evaluations. The BRAVE-WOW QAP will provide the documentation and evidence needed to demonstrate that the project has met its objectives and maintained high standards throughout its lifecycle.

Incorporating a Quality Assurance Plan into BRAVE-WOW is not just about meeting formal requirements—it is about building a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. It will ensure that the project will deliver real value to society, stand up to scrutiny, and contribute meaningfully to European goals.
