BRAVE-WOW research featured in conference on healthy workplaces

Researchers from the BRAVE-WOW project participated in the conference “How is Work Going? Ensuring Healthy Workplaces and Psychosocial Well-being”, held on 6th May and organised by ASVDS – Associação Vertentes e Desafios da Segurança.

The event took place as part of the commemorations of the National Day for Safety and Health at Work, which is also observed internationally as Workers’ Memorial Day on 28 April.

Ana Sofia Menício and Diogo Cerdeira, the UC researchers working in the BRAVE-WOW project, formed part of a panel on hyperconnectivity and artificial intelligence, addressing emerging risks and new approaches to prevention in the workplace. Ana Sofia Menício explored whether the right to disconnect remains a reality, while Diogo Cerdeira questioned whether the research community is effectively identifying and measuring the most relevant risks.

Although the panel was not specifically dedicated to the BRAVE-WOW project, examples and insights from its research were used to support and illustrate the discussions. These contributions helped spark an engaging exchange with the audience, demonstrating how BRAVE-WOW’s findings resonate across broader debates.

This moment highlights the project’s growing reach and versatility: even beyond its core focus on gender-based violence and harassment, BRAVE-WOW continues to inform and inspire new lines of inquiry, contributing valuable perspectives to emerging topics such as the challenges of digital work and psychosocial well-being.
