The BRAVE-WOW project was presented at the European Association of Work and Organisational Psychology (EAWOP) Congress, held in Prague from 22 to 24 May 2025. This event gathered experts and professionals from across Europe to explore the latest research and practices in work and organisational psychology.
Representing BRAVE-WOW, Sílvia Lopes (University of Coimbra) introduced the project to an international audience, emphasising its mission to promote safer, more respectful, and gender-inclusive work environments throughout Europe. Her presentation provided an overview of the project’s objectives and the transformative activities being undertaken by the European partnership.
Sílvia Lopes is a researcher and assistant professor at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences (FPCE), University of Coimbra. Within BRAVE-WOW, she works under Work Package 2 (WP2) – Framework for Understanding Gender-Based Violence and Harassment in the Workplace. The WP2 team, led by the University of Évora, is developing a comprehensive Decent Work Framework and designing specialised tools to assess gender-based violence (GBV) and harassment in the workplace, laying the foundation for informed action and policy.
EAWOP is a leading organisation in the field, dedicated to advancing work and organisational psychology across Europe. BRAVE-WOW’s presence at the Congress underscores the project’s relevance and commitment to addressing GBV and fostering decent work as defined by the European Commission and the International Labour Organisation.
During the event, BRAVE-WOW generated significant interest from both researchers and practitioners. The project’s innovative and organised approach to addressing gender-based violence in the workplace sparked enthusiasm among attendees. This engagement opened several opportunities for collaboration with other professionals and European initiatives. In addition to her formal presentations, Silvia Lopes also contributed to disseminating the project through informal networking, sharing insights during discussions with colleagues, and distributing flyers highlighting BRAVE-WOW’s key messages and aims.
