A few weeks ago, the International Labour Organization (ILO) announced a major milestone: 50 countries have ratified Convention C190, the first-ever global treaty designed to protect all workers from violence and harassment in the world of work.
Convention C190 recognises that violence in the workplace is not limited to physical harm. It also includes psychological, sexual, and economic abuse, and applies to all forms of work – from traditional offices to digital platforms. It ensures protection regardless of gender, role, or contract type.
The ILO continues to call on more governments to ratify C190 and strengthen protections for every worker, everywhere.
The BRAVE-WOW project and its consortium are fully committed to this goal. Through collaborative research and practical tools, this European partnership is working to prevent gender-based violence and harassment at work, promoting safer and more inclusive workplaces for all.
