On 11 September 2026, BRAVE-WOW will take part in Diálogos em Comportamento Organizacional II, hosted by the Faculty of Economics at the University of Coimbra in Coimbra, Portugal, featuring a dedicated symposium on preventing gender-based violence and harassment in the world of work. The symposium will run from 11:00 to 12:30 in Sala Keynes.
Organised by Leonor Pais of the University of Coimbra and Nuno Rebelo dos Santos of the University of Évora, the symposium brings together five complementary contributions from BRAVE-WOW partners.
The session will open with an overview of BRAVE-WOW – Building Respectful and Violence-free Gender-inclusive Environments in the World of Work, highlighting the project’s efforts to prevent and combat gender-based violence and harassment, particularly in the healthcare sector.
The remaining presentations will cover four key areas: understanding gender-based violence and harassment as a potential Decent Work deficit; evidence on organisational interventions in healthcare; the prevalence and legal framing of workplace gender-based violence across Europe; and BRAVE-WOW’s participatory model for engaging stakeholders and building a European Community of Practice.
Together, these contributions reflect the project’s commitment to connecting research, organisational practice, policy and stakeholder participation to develop safer, more respectful and gender-inclusive workplaces.
